November 30, Abuja: The Counselor for Political Affairs at the Liberian Embassy in Abuja, the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr. Tunde J. Spencer has successfully completed a five-day intensive training held in Geneva, Switzerland.
A release from the Liberian Embassy in Abuja says the Liberian diplomat joinedabout 25 other participants from 20 countries who participated in a high level leadership cross-culture training under the theme “Enhancing Leadership for Peace-building”.
The training took place from November 13-17, 2017. Other diplomats, security experts, political scientists, officials of the United Nations, Danish Rescue Mission, European Union, and the Swiss Government, among others attended the training, according to the release.
Jointly organized by the Geneva Center for Peace Policy (GCSP), the Geneva Graduate Institute, the United Nations Institute for Training and Research(UNITAR), and the Swiss Government, the training helped the participants to review their own leadership roles, discussed past challenges, and how to deal with the challenges in a peaceful manner.
“We also discussed the role of the United Nations in time of crises and how the UN has impacted the international community over the last 20 years”, Mr. Spencer recounted.
“The training was very practical and interactive. Above it all, it was very rewarding and I will encourage anyone to take full advantage of it whenever it is held again”, the Liberian diplomat explained.
The release adds that the participants were given the opportunity to analyse their personal leadership preferences, and styles, especially in a cross-culture environment.
Participants bore the full cost of travelling, accommodation and feeding during the training, the release concludes.
