TRENTON — A human body was discovered in a plastic trash bag in South Trenton Monday evening, Trenton police said.
A person found the bag at about 4:45 p.m. in the 400 block of Lamberton Street and called police. Arriving officers confirmed an apparent body was in the bag and alerted homicide detectives, police said.
The bag was partially on the side of the street and partially on the sidewalk, police spokesman Lt. Stephen Varn said. He said it was not immediately known Monday evening if the body was male or female or any other details of the discovery.
The 300 block of Lamberton is in the northern part of South Trenton not far from Route 1.
The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office’s Homicide Task Force is investigating.
