‘Milestone Achievements’ – GN Bank MD Speaks of One Year Operations In Liberia

The Managing Director of GN Bank-Liberia, Joseph K. Anim said the bank has made milestone achievements in just one year after its establishment in the country.

Speaking Friday at the opening of another branch of the Bank on Randall Street in Monrovia, Anim said the dedication of the Randall Street’s branch indicates another important achievement for Group Nduom in Liberia.

According to him, since the inception of the bank in the country in 2016, the strategies of the board and executive management of the bank have been to reorganize the bank in two phases.

Anim disclosed that phase one was to stabilize the bank and provide the good base for an exponential growth in the Liberian economy.

Phase two he said is to prioritize technology and to change the face of banking in Liberia through technology and innovations.

He said phase one of the strategies has been completed following the inauguration of the Randall street branch.

“One year down the line, we have grown the balance sheet side of this bank from US$16.3million to a US$39.2million. We have also restored customer service, confidence,” he said.

He further revealed that with one year, they have strengthened the human capital base of the bank by recruiting some of the best Liberians for the work.

Anim said they have invested an estimated US$2.6million in the acquisition of safety vehicles, equipment, among others.

As part of their promise to the country, Anim said they have added two more money gram and western union locations in the country.

“In one year, we have increased the total branch network to ten and four cash outlets. We currently in 14 different locations,” he added.

He said by November 2017, the bank will be introducing the mobile banking facility, which will ensure that banking is on the move.

“This will help the Liberian people to have access to banking facility and financial services,” he noted.

Anim said such activities are in fulfilment of their promise to bring financial services to the door steps of Liberians.
