U.S. Embassy Begins Discussion Meet With Presidential Aspirants

The United States Embassy near Monrovia in a press Release wholeheartedly congratulated the Liberian Government, and the people of Liberia for vibrant democracy and the successful end of the end of the voter registration process.

The embassy in the press release said its initiating series of private discussions with presidential aspirants of political parties who wish to engage with the U.S. Embassy.

The first dialogue took place on Friday, April 5, 2017 with Cllr. Dr. Jallah Barbu of the New Liberia Party.

The U.S. Embassy said it will continue these dialogues in the weeks that follow in order to better understand the platforms, priorities, and philosophies of the aspirants.

Stressing, the embassy in the press release said, “We wish Liberia a successful election that is free, fair, open and peaceful.  U.S. Embassy meetings with political aspirants will be closed to the press”, the release concluded.
