KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 30 people, including doctors and patients, were killed and 50 more wounded after gunmen dressed as medics stormed a military hospital in Kabul on Wednesday, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said.
Maj. Gen. Dawlat Waziri, a MoD spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News first a suicide bomber detonated his payload at the southern gate of the 400-bed military hospital at around 9am, allowing three other attackers to enter the hospital’s 2nd and 3rd floor.
The attack on Sardar Mohammad Daud Khan Military Hospital, located in heavily-guarded Wazir Akbar Khan diplomatic quarter, set off clashes with security forces that lasted several hours.
