“Following the Supreme Court of Liberia ruling in the case “Selena Mappy-Polson v. The Government of the Republic of Liberia” on Friday, March 3, 2017, there have been several false reports and rumors propagated about the Alternative National Congress’ Political Leader, Mr. Alexander B. Cummings’, eligibility to run for the office of president.

We would like to formally clarify that Mr. Cummings candidacy for president is in no way impacted by the Code of Conduct Act of 2014 and the Selena Mappy-Polson Ruling, and that he is in full compliance with the law and all NEC regulations. We and his supporters across the country are fully confident that Mr. Alexander B. Cummings will be elected president this coming October and inaugurated on January 2018.

The perpetration of the mentioned falsehoods, we assume is an attempt by the opposition to distract and demoralize our supporters; a response to the phenomena that is Mr. Alexander B. Cummings. Unable to contest with Mr. Cummings’ immaculate background, or articulate a superior platform or stance on the issues, they have resorted to their old tricks, to swindle the public, to stop the rapid movement that will change the country. Thankfully, the Liberian people are not gullible and will not be so easily tricked into sustaining the status quo which our opposition holds so dearly.

Mr. Cummings and the ANC refuse to engage in nefarious political mudslinging, and we ask that our supporters remain focused on creating a better Liberia, and that all voters make their decisions based on facts this October, so that we all can have a Liberia that we deserve.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT

Amid several false reports and rumors about Mr. Alexander B. Cummings’ eligibility to contest for the office of president following the Supreme Court of Liberia Ruling in the case “Selena Mappy-Polson v. The Government of the Republic of Liberia” on Friday, March 3, 2017, we would like to formally clarify that Mr. Cummings candidacy for president is in no way impacted by the Code of Conduct Act of 2014 and the Selena Mappy-Polson Ruling, and that he is in full compliance with the law and all NEC regulations.
