In Gbarpolu County Police Searches For Man Who Butchers Wife And Six Months Old Baby To Death

In Gbarpoolu County, Belleh District a man believed to be in his early 50s on yesterday, February 27, 2017 butchered his wife and a child while on their way to a mining site where her work.

According to a local journalist who spoke about the butchering of the two victims vie mobile phone through the ELBC Radio said search is ongoing in the County by a group of able body men including security officers for the arrest of the for the perpetrator.

The journalist further disclosed that after the incident in the hard forest of Belle, the perpetrator who only identified as Sam threw the baby in the nearby bushes after nearly cutting off his head with cutlass, while the mother of the child who was also severely cut with the same cutlass left the scene and ran in the forest.

According to the report, farmers from a nearby village who heard the crying of the woman went to her rescue, while the baby who was also discovered by the search team few hours later. According to the journalist the search is still in search of the perpetrator.
