President-elect Donald Trump arrived in Washington on Thursday, the eve of his swearing-in as the 45th chief executive of the United States in a time-honored ceremony on the steps of the U.S. Capitol.

“The journey begins and I will be working and fighting very hard to make it a great journey for the American people,” Trump said in a note posted on Twitter.

Invoking his trademark campaign slogan, he added: “I have no doubt that we will, together, make America great again.”
