Bomb blast at Moreh Police Commando complex, NSF declares

bombblzstGuwahati, December 21 : A lethode bomb was exploded at the Police Commando complex in trouble torn Manipur on Tuesday evening, police said on Wednesday.

According to the reports, the bomb was detonated by unidentified miscreants at the Moreh Police Commando complex along Manipur-Myanmar border but no casualties were reported.

A top police official said that miscreants exploded the bomb at the police commando complex in the newly created Tengnoupal district at around 5.15 PM on Tuesday led damaging a vehicle.

“There was no casualty and no one claimed responsibility for the attack,” the police official said.

Meanwhile, the Naga Students Federation (NSF) had imposed a total blockade on all Manipur-bound vehicles, including passenger and goods carriers, in all Naga- inhabited areas till the Manipur government gave its assurance to Naga people about their safety and security in that state.

bombblast2NSF president Subenthung Kithan said that we have decided to impose total blockade on all Manipur bound vehicles.

“If anybody want to travel from Naga-inhabited areas to Manipur would be doing so at his or her own risk,” the NSF chief said.

Kithan further said that NSF would exempt students travelling back to Manipur from their vacations.

The United Naga Council (UNC) had imposed an indefinite economic blockade on the National Highways of Manipur since November 1.

Meanwhile, the curfew has been lifted from 4am till 7pm on Wednesday from Imphal East, except for Lamlong to Yaingangpokpi, in the wake of violence following economic blockade on national highways connecting the state.

bombblast1On the other hand, the Youth’s Forum for Protection of Human Rights (YFPHR) has urged the Manipur government to conduct a special probe into the ambush at Lokchao which left three policemen dead.

On December 18 and December 19, angry protesters torched at least 30 vehicles including several passenger buses in different places of the state.

On the other hand, police used tear gas on bandh supporters in imphal on Tuesday.

A mob burn down a church at Pangei Nepali Basti, Imphal East on Monday night.

Meanwhile mobile internet services were snapped till December 25 in Imphal East and Imphal West district.
