The National Custom Brokers Association of Liberia is expected to shortly launch what the group calls a ‘One Bag Of Cement’ rally to support the construction of its own headquarters.
According to the Chairman of the Construction Committee, Mr. James Hinneh said this initiative on the part of his organization to construct a new headquarters is aimed at bringing total dignity to the organization, noting that this new headquarters when constructed will be situated opposite City Builders just few yards away from the Freeport of Monrovia on the Bushrod Island.
He said for too long his organization which has a reputation have over the years operated from rented buildings, adding that giving the sensitive nature of their work it was time to have a space of their own.
In an interview with the Global News Network, Mr. Hinneh pleaded for financial and material support from government, local and international partner, especially the International Federation of Customs Brokers among others.
According to him, the rally is intended to generate the estimated cost of two hundred fifty thousand United States dollars, and also said this is in agreement with the General Assembly, Opinion Leaders, and Managers, noting the day will be considered as Customs Brokers Day on August 22, 2016.
The rally, according to Mr. Hinneh will bring together officials of government from the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, Liberia Revenue Authority and other public and private financial institutions are to grace the occasion on August 22, 2016 at the Brokers temporally offices.
The NCBAL is an association operating under the laws of the Republic of Liberia and serve as laison between customers and government in clearing and forwarding of goods at various ports of entry across the country.
