Recent scaring news which was reported that some strange gunmen trooped on Liberia’s soil specifically in Bomi County, western Liberia with sporadic shooting that led farmers to flee their villages and farms has been discovered that those who reportedly entered Liberia with sporadic shooting were Sierra Leonean movie stars who crossed over Liberia on their new movie adventure.
A local radio station quoting a Sierra Leonean Journalist who is working for the West Africa Democracy Radio in Dakar Senegal, the Sierra Leonean movie team had apparently crossed into Liberia in search of a scene for the movie.
The Sierra Leonean Police issued a statement in Freetown Tuesday making the clarification to citizens of Sierra Leone on the side of their border who were also panicking as a result of the shooting.
The Liberian Government is yet to speak on the report since it broke out last Saturday leaving citizens to be in fear following the reported gun men trooping in a village called ‘Fula Hill’ in Bomi County with shooting.
This situation also made both the Liberia National Police Emergency Response Unit, men of the Armed Forces of Liberia and the Bureau of Immigration to move into the county with heavy military gears in their bid to overrun any eventuality that they made see in the County.
As a result of this situation checkpoints were also mounted by security forces on the Monrovia/Tubmanburg high in an apparent move to arrest the situation or bring it under control.
However, Liberians who spoke to our reporter decried authorities at the Ministries of Information and National Defense for not adequately informing the public on this scaring situation and also prayed that this latest development from Sierra Leone will finally put to rest this bad news.
