Weeks after brutal blasts, ISIS strikes again at Baghdad

uni1469374279{BNN Online News / BAGHDAD, Iraq – Weeks after Iraq experienced its deadliest terror blast that killed hundreds of people, another suicide bombing claimed by the Islamic State (ISIS) militant group is said to have ripped through a residential area in the capital.

The bombing is said to have taken place in Kadhimiya, which is a predominantly Shiite in the Baghdad’s northern region.

Iraqi security officials have stated that 21 people were feared dead, while 35 others were said to be injured.

ISIS claimed the attack via its affiliated news agency, Amaq and said that it targeted soldiers, a gathering of security forces and Shiite militia members.

Reports said that the bomber detonated his device near the district’s packed entrance and at least four police officers, along with many civilians were said to have died in the attack. READ MORE OF THIS STORY
