
As partisans and sympathizers of the ruling Unity Party (UP) end the three-day National Convention of the party in central Liberia, Gbarnga, Bong County, reports reaching this outlet says Liberia’s Information Minister Lenn Eugene Nagbe has won the position as Secretary General of the UP.
According to our reporter covering the Gbarnga Convention, Minister captured 251 votes over two other contenders including Montserrado Representative, Henry Fahnbulleh, below are the results:
Eugene Nagbe 251 votes
Miller Katakaw-77 votes
Henry Fahnbulleh- 68 votes
In a related development, the outgoing Chairman of the party, Cllr. Varney Sherman has cast ‘a white ballot’ in favor of Mr. Wilmot J. Paye who previously served as Secretary General of the party.
Our reporter said the UP partisans in their numbers were in high spirit when the results of those elected were announced.
