ANC Political Leader Vows To Change Liberia, Rubbishes Report On Legalizing Gay practices In Liberia

cummingsThe political leader of the opposition political party, the National Alternative Congress (ANC), Mr. Alexander Benedict Cummings affectionately call ‘ABC’ has vowed to bring changes in his Government when elected President of Liberia and introduce those vices that would speedily bring dignity to Africa’s oldest republic.

Speaking to the GNN today at his ‘Cummings for President’ Campaign office in Sinkor, the suburb of Monrovia, Mr. Cummings, a well grinded corporate manager also stressed the need for Liberia to have a leader who will at all times seek the interest of its people and regain its lost integrity among the comity of nations.

Speaking further, on his bid for Liberia’s presidency come 2017, the former Executive of the Coca-Cola Company worldwide said he will do all in his powers to bring total dignity to Liberia and its citizenry.

He said his quest for the country’s presidency is not because he is craving for job to enrich himself, but noted that his aims is to help bring relief to the people of Liberia who are drowning in abject poverty.

Mr. Cummings used to occasion to debunk recent media report about his support for gay marriage in Liberia published in the May 6, 2016 edition of the Parrot Newspaper.

Reacting to the paper, the highly respected international corporate executive rubbished the report and described it as fallacy which is been used by his political opponents to detract the good intention he has for the Liberian people.

Following the GNN’s interaction with the ANC political leader, several Liberians who spoke to this outlet poured praises on the former executive of the Coca-Cola Company International, describing him as a true son of the soil who they believe will take Liberia to another level among the comity of nations when elected.

They also rubbished report of his nationality as an American, stressing that many Liberians here who have dual citizenship, and are parading the corridor of power, while buck of them are here plundering the country’s resources.

One of the diehard supporters of the ANC political leader, Isaac Dennis recalled Mr. Cummings’ numerous contributions to the country’s educational system, and providing jobs to hundreds of jobless Liberians during his reigns at the Coca-Cola International, making sure that Liberians youthful population gain employment.

Mr. Dennis profiling his political leader said, Mr. Cummings’ professional services worldwide included Chief Administrative Officer of the Coca-Cola Company from July 1, 2008 to March 31, 2016 and as its Executive Vice President from July 2002 to March 31, 2016. Mr. Cummings served as the President of Africa Group of Coca-Cola Company from March 2001 to June 2008 and as its Chief Operating Officer of Africa Group since July 2002.

He served as an Executive Vice President of Coca-Cola Company since July.

He said Mr. Alexander Benedict Cummings, also known as Alex, Jr., served as Chief Administrative Officer of the Coca-Cola Company from July 1, 2008 to March 31, 2016 and as its Executive Vice President from July 2002 to March 31, 2016.

Mr. Cummings served as the President of Africa Group of Coca-Cola Company from March 2001 to June 2008 and as its Chief Operating Officer of Africa Group since July 2002. He served as an Executive Vice President of Coca-Cola Company since July 2002.

He joined Coca Cola Co. in 1997 as Deputy Region Manager, Nigeria based in Lagos, Nigeria and Managing Director/Region Manager, Nigeria since 1998. Since 2000, he served as President of Coca-Cola Company’s North and West Africa Division, responsible for the North African countries of Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria, along with all the countries of sub-Saharan West and Central Africa from Mauritania to The Democratic Republic of Congo.

Cummings started his career in 1982 with The Pillsbury Company and held various positions within Pillsbury, his last position being Vice President of Finance for all of Pillsbury’s international businesses. He serves as the Chairman of Coca-Cola Africa Foundation, which works to support health and education across Africa. He has been a Non Executive Director at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated since March 9, 2010. He serves as a Director of S. C. Johnson & Son, Inc. He serves as a Board Member of the Africa-America Institute, Africare, the Corporate Council on Africa, Clarke Atlanta University and the U.S.-Egypt Business Council. He serves on the Advisory Board at The African Presidential Archives & Research Center.

He served as an Independent Director of Chevron Corporation since December 10, 2014 until April 27, 2016. He also serves on the Center for Global Development’s Commission on U.S. Policy toward Low-Income Poorly Performing States (LIPPS) and formerly served as a Board Member of the Sabathani Community Center in Minneapolis, MN, U.S.A.

He served as a Director of Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company from September 13, 2006 to December 9, 2010. He served as a Director of International Bank (Liberia) Limited. Mr. Cummings holds a BS degree in Finance and Economics from North Illinois University and an MBA in Finance from Atlanta University.

“So we are proud to have such a man who has a wealth of managerial experiences, we believe this man will deliver our country and bring dignity to it when elected as President of Liberia after Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf presidency shall have ended in 2018”, Mr. Dennis boastfully speaking to the GNN said.
