Untitled-9_153The Liberia National Police (LNP) has stepped up the search for five unidentified gunmen who robbed a 32-year-old resident of Mango Town in Virginia on the night of Wednesday, April 13.

LNP spokesman Sam Collins said the men, according to the victim, who were armed with single barrel shotguns and cutlasses, forcefully entered his house and held his family at gunpoint after removing one of the window bars.

Collins told the Liberia News Agency Thursday that the victim informed police that the robbers took away sixteen cell phones belonging to his customers, and an unspecified amount of United States dollars.

He said upon arrival on the scene, police officers uncovered the blank shell of the gun shot that was fired.

According to him, the LNP is encouraging residents of Virginia to assist the police with information that will lead to the arrest of the culprits.
