A 42-year-old man has been detained at the Monrovia Central Prison on charges of unlicensed sale and distribution of controlled drug.
James Howe was on March 5 arrested by officers of the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) with 6.428 kilograms of processed Marijuana valued at L$48,600 (the equivalent of US$540) at his Buzzy Quarter residence under a search and seizure warrant executed by Sheriff officers from the Monrovia City Court.
Howe was on Monday arraigned before the court to answer to the charges levied against him.
The DEA charge sheet further indicated that the defendant was informed of his constitutional rights to lawyers or to remain silent and that any statement made by him would be used against him in a court of law.
During Police investigation, the defendants admitted to the crime and named his accomplice as Kebbeh Howe, saying he had been in this business since 2008.
Howe is currently detained awaiting court trial.
