Bill Gates Still Richest Person on Forbes’ Annual Billionaires List

{New York 1} – The world’s richest person is just a few bucks short of where he was last year.

Forbes’ Billionaires list shows Bill Gates holding onto the number one spot, with a bank account worth $75 billion. Last year, the Microsoft founder’s net worth was $79.2 billion.

Gates has topped the list for 17 of the last 22 years.

Spanish clothing retailer, Amancio Ortega, jumps to the number two spot from number five.

Ortega, best known for the Zara fashion chain, is worth $67 billion.

Warren Buffett rounds out the top three. The investor remained in the third spot for the second year in a row, despite having his net worth drop by $11.9 billion.

His worth is $60.8 billion.

Former Mayor Michael Bloomberg jumped up six spots to number eight, with a worth of $40 billion.

A total of 1,810 billionaires made this year’s list – a decrease of 16 from last year.
