The Press Union of Liberia announces the signing of a Book of Condolence in remembrance of Journalist Hilary Vasco Wiagbe of the Liberia News Agency (LINA).
Mr. Wiagbe died in Monrovia on October 27, 2015 after a brief illness, age 55.
The signing will be led by the President and Members of the Press Union of Liberia, and the officers and staff of the Ministry of Information, Culture Affairs & Tourism and the Liberia News Agency (LINA), among others.
During his lifetime, Journalist Vasco worked with several news outlets in Liberia including The New National, Star Radio, In Profile Daily and the Liberia News Agency.
The PUL is meanwhile calling on all journalists and members of the Press Union of Liberia to converge on the Headquarters of the Union at 10:30am Friday, November 13, 2015 to honor their fallen colleague.
The Press Union of Liberia also encourages all members to assemble at the Abraham Roberts Funeral Parlor at 8:00am on Saturday, November 14, for
the removal of the remains of Mr. Vasco Wiagbe for subsequent funeral service at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Gardnersville.
In another sad development, the Press Union of Liberia regrets the shock passing of Journalist Mohammed Kromah of L-Net Radio.
Mohammed died on Wednesday, November 11 after a brief illness. He was 22 years and also a student at the AME University.
The young Journalist started his short but memorable career at the Microscope Newspaper. Kromah was buried Thursday afternoon in keeping with Islamic rites.
