Drumming, Singing Takes Over Monrovia As Liberians Crave For Victor Over ‘Elephants’ Today

The City of Monrovia is overwhelmed with lots of drumming, singing and dancing as Liberians trooping to the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in central Monrovia to witness their darling football team, the Lone of Star when she faces neighboring Ivory Coast in the first leg of a double-headed fixture in the World Cup Qualifier this afternoon.

Our reporter who toured the entire city and its environs last night to this morning saw Liberians in their thousands singing and dancing to their traditional soccer songs wishing for a victory over the Ivorian team.

Many of those who spoke to our reporter expressed confidence that their national team, the Lone Star will definitely defeat the visitors with nothing more than three goals to zero in favor of their national team.

As a move of showing solidarity to their national team, most Liberians saw around the city were seen in their national color (Red, White and Blue), expressing total confidence of today’s victory.
