The management of the National Port Authority (NPA) has reportedly refused to response to the Freedom of Information (FoI) request made to that entity on August 25th, 2015 requesting it to release to basis information in accordance to the Freedom of Information Act of how funds generated is been used.
In its communication to the NPA management, the GNN said it wrote to invoke the right to inquire on some basis information about the National Port Authority under the Freedom Of Information (FOI) Act.
The GNN in its communication to the Acting Managing Director of the NPA put forward several issues that needed the response of the management of the entity.
Some those concerns were: How US$300,000 was spent in a short period of time by the Acting Managing Director, Mr. David F. Williams for the renovation of the Greenville Port.
The GNN in its communication also requested the Acting Managing Director to release information on what period and time did these renovations occur? And also provide a list of renovation made, copies of the PPCC approval, and Board resolution for said renovation.
Several other issues were also put forward to the NPA acting boss to address but up to present nothing has been said about the GNN FoI request.
