Herbert Johnson, a Liberian journalist who was recently diagnosed of liver cancer in the United States, and brought back to Liberia, few weeks later died at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Monrovia was on last Saturday, June 6, 2015 laid to rest.
Earlier, a funeral service was held at the Providence Baptist Church in central Monrovia with hundreds of sympathizers including journalists paying their last respect to the fallen Liberian journalist.
Several tributes were paid from several individuals and organizations including the Press Union of Liberia, the Association of Liberia Journalists in the Americas, and members of the Executive Mansion Reporters.
The late Johnson leave to mourn his wife, Sivio Johnson, three children, his aged mother and several relatives and friends.
Prior to his death, the late Johnson was the Publisher of several news outlets including the Diary and Option Newspapers.
