Liberia Consoles Ghana For the Death of At Least 96 Persons, Also Consoles The People’s Republci Of China

The President of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency, Mrs. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has sent a message of condolence to the Government and People of the Republic of Ghana for the death of at least 96 persons as a result of a flood which led to a fire outbreak at a Petrol Station in Accra on Wednesday, June 3, 2015.

In her Message to her Ghanaian counterpart, H.E. Dr. John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, Mrs. Johnson Sirleaf extended on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia and in her own name heartfelt condolences to the Government and People of Ghana, especially the bereaved families and love ones of the victims for the irreparable loss.

President Johnson Sirleaf prayed that God Almighty will give the people of Ghana strength and courage as they mourn the death of their compatriots during this sad period.

Inb a related development, the Liberian leader, President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has conveyed a message of condolence to the Government and People of the People's Republic of China over the sad event of a Cruise Ship that capsized in the Yangtze River while traveling from Nanjing to Southwest City of Chongqing leaving five persons dead and more than 400 persons missing.

In her message to her Chinese counterpart, H.E. Mr. Xi Jinping, President of the People's Republic of China, President Johnson Sirleaf extended on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia and in her own name heartfelt condolences to the Government and People of China, especially the bereaved families and love ones of victims for the irreparable loss.

The Liberian leader prayed that the courage and resilience which has modeled the Chinese character through ages will see them through this sad period as they recover from the shock of this tragedy.
