Since the civil war of 1989 and even to date there has been a virtual decline in educational programs in Liberia especially the Numonpoh administrative district which was grossly affected with the death of thousands of lives, destruction of properties and other valuables. The Numonpoh chiefdom which until quite recently was elevated to an administrative status was left out of development in the Kpanyan statutory district.
School building was not constructed except for the sake of their children; built temporary thatch hut for schooling; since the end of hostilities in Liberia, the Numonpah ethnic minority continuous to experience un-development including school structure, instructional materials, trained teachers, clinics and recreational facilities among other essentials.
It was again this background my wife Beatrice and I decided to contribute our resource in cash and value toward the building of an elementary school in Numonpah district, Sinoe County. The school has five (5) class room, auditorium, principal’s office, big environment and other. The total cost of constructing the Wilson Teewiah elementary school is Eleven Thousand Seven Hundred Eighty Eight United States Dollars (11,700.88).
Our gesture is in solidarity with our suffer people who meager resources cannot build a school structure for the little one in our view as parent. We realized the handicapped that the lacked of educational support will bring to our community. Now that the school has been completed to a learning facility, I am calling on the government of Liberia through the Ministry of Education, UNDP, USAID and the Legislature Caucus of Sinoe County to help provide trained teachers, educational materials for the smooth running of the school. Any of the above mentioned institution or individual can contact Mr. Teewiah via these numbers. +231880173332/+231770337098.
