Students at the Cape Palmas High School in Harper, Maryland County have staged a mass protest action in demand of the immediate renovation of the roof of their school building.
The building was reportedly abandoned in 2014several months after contractors failed to complete the renovation work.
Since then, the school administration has been finding it difficult to run normal classes in the midst of the dilapidated state of the building, especially during the rains.
The protest, which was joined by several schools from the Cape Palmas School System at the weekend, was prompted by the falling of pieces of dilapidated ceiling on the students in several classrooms during classes.
Meanwhile, the students are calling on Government to come to their rescue by re-roofing the entire school building before they can return to school.
