A three (3) day high level ‘Off Site Management Retreat’ with specific emphasis on fostering the agenda of National Port Authority has ended in the Port City of Buchanan.
According to a press release issued by the NPA, the Retreat was held under the theme: “Changed Management through Evidence Based Approach – Transitioning to a Desire” with the full participation of Top Executives, Middle level Managers and officials of the Dock Workers Union of Liberia.
Participants at the Retreat meanly heads of various departments of the NPA in separate presentations, discussed pertinent issues and the way forward aimed at accomplishing the core objectives and vision of the National Port Authority with hands on approach and the involvement of policy makers, line managers and the entire work force.
A release from the NPA is quoted as saying, the intuition’s newly appointed Board Chairman Dr Henry Tokpa witnessed all of the working sessions of the Retreat and expressed joy over what he called the ‘far sighted ambition’ of the NPA management in moving the entity forward.
The NPA new Board Chair used the occasion to challenge the current management team and the work force to always imbue in them, a renewed commitment to duty if they must keep the dream of the institution alive at all times.
Also in remarks, NPA acting Managing Director, Mr. David Williams thanked the new Board Chair and his co-workers for their support towards achievable goals that are cardinal to the growth and development of the ports.
The Retreat comes on the heel of plans by the current management team of the National Port Authority to implement major projects of the institution in line with government’s Agenda for Transformation and Infrastructural Development.
