Senate Pro-Tempore Armah Zulu Jallah has donated L$200,000 to the Gbarpolu County School System (GCSS) to undertake ‘special projects’ in various schools across the county.
He made the donation over the weekend in Bopolu at a Thanksgiving Mass held in his honor by the St. Monica Catholic Church to pray for God’s protection and direction as he steers the affairs of the Liberian Senate.
Jallah, a member of the Catholic Church, was recently elected President Pro-Tempore of the Liberian Senate.
He hoped that beneficiaries will prioritize safe drinking water for students, construction of additional classrooms as well as purchase of chalks, black boards, benches, chairs and desks, among others.
Pro-Temp Jallah observed that the county will only be developed if the youths acquire sound and quality education.
For his part, the Priest of the St. Monica Catholic Church, Rev. Father Henry Somah, in his sermon, admonished citizens of the county to hold together in the spirit of love and brotherhood to move the development process forward.
The ceremony was graced by members of the National Legislature, chiefs, elders, students, professional institutions and ordinary citizens of the county.
