LIBERIA: George Weah Urges Legislative, Executive Ties To Achieve National Goals

Former Liberia football legend, and now Senator of  Montserrado County, George Weah has called for cooperation between the Legislature and Executive to attain the national agenda.

Weah made the call Thursday in session when he delivered the report of the ad-hoc committee set up by the Senate to look at the planned national football county meet slated to take place in Grand Bassa County next month.

Weah, who chairs the committee, said the decision by Youth and Sports Minister Eugene Nagbe to disregard the ad-hoc committee’s invitation to appear before it dents future discussions for the success of the games.

“I expected the MYS boss to come and tell us how we could mobilize as a team to generate funds and how we could ensure that the tournament is rescheduled so as to avoid distractions in the re-opening of schools,” he said.
