LIBERIA: Death Hits AEL Again

The longest service Cashier of the Association of Evangelicals of Liberia (AEL) Ms. Henrietta Washington has died in Paynesville, outside Monrovia city.

 According to s AEL press release, Ms Henrietta Washington died Saturday-evening on January 24 2015 upon arrival at the SOS clinic following hours of active daily work at the Headquarters of AEL.

The cause of death of Ms. Washington is unknown and Medical Doctors at SOS Clinic have cleared the deceased of Ebola virus.

According to an AEL Release, the Secretariat of AEL is expected to open a book of Condolence on this Tuesday at 12 mid-day at the AEL Head offices located within the ELWA Compound in Paynesville.   

Funeral arrangements are being concluded between the bereaved family and AEL management for entombment of the body of the late Henrietta Washington on Saturday-morning February 7, 2015 at the J.C.N.Howard Cemetery in Paynesville.

Family sources informed AEL management that Ms Washington returned home from job during the afternoon hours on Saturday-afternoon on January 24, 2015 and later retired in her bedroom only to be found helpless in Coma in bed.

According to family sources, they discovered Ms. Washington lying in bed flat on her face helpless and converging.

The Family said all efforts to get ambulance proved futile until some friends and relatives rushed Ms Washington to the SOS Clinic where medical doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival.

The 37- year old woman, whose parents predeceased her, has left to mourn her death three girl children and a host of relatives and friends at home and abroad. The late Henrietta hailed from Nimba County.

The deceased joined AEL in 2005 as field Officer within the Advocacy and Peace Building Department from where she was promoted to the post of Cashier in the Finance Department on September 1, 2007 following the death of another cashier madam Helena Walker.

AEL is the largest faith based national Nongovernmental Organization (NGO) and Civil Society Organization (CSO) founded since 1968 with an active Board of Governance and progressive Secretariat involves in  church planting and growth, Relief and Development, Advocacy and Peace Building, governance and human/child Rights, among others in the country.
