LIBERIA: CDC Crisis Deepens Embattled Chairman, George Solo Brags Suspension Of Party Leaders

The political woe is still growing amongst the leadership of the opposition Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) as the embattled Chairman of the party, George Solo has publicly disclosed that the Standard Bearer of the party, football legend, George Weah, the party’s Secretary General, Nathaniel McGill, Mulba Morly Vice Chairman for Operations and the Youth Wing Chairman, Jefferson Kodjay have been suspended ‘With immediate effect’.

Addressing a news conference at his residence Wednesday in Monrovia, George Solo said the Standard Bearer of the party; George Weah is suspended because according to him, he lied under oath by denying his American citizenship.

He told news men that his action to suspend both the Party Standard Bearer and Secretary General is to stop them from participating in the upcoming special senatorial race scheduled for Saturday, December 20, 2014, noting, “George Weah and the rest of the guys have been suspended from the party,” the embattled Chairman of the CDC told reporters.

Few hours after Mr. Solo’s news conference, the Vice Chairman of the CDC for Operations, Mulbah Morlu called a press conference to debunk the suspension threat on them by the Party’s suspended National chairman, stressing, “This is a joke, and a big bluff from George Solo,  we will not dignify this trash, as far we are concerned George Solo is under suspension,” Morlu reacting to their reported suspension by Solo noted.
