A local non-governmental organization the Chicago Bright Foundation has begun the distribution of plastic buckets and detergents in four counties to help curb the spread of the Ebola disease in rural Liberia.
According to the Program Director of the Foundation Gibson Buku-Gailor his organization is collaborating with two civil society organizations to distribute the items and create awareness about the Ebola disease in Montserrado, Bong, Bassa and Margibi counties.
Mr. Buku-Gailor noted that while in the counties, his organization will target communities where the Foundation has implemented projects including the setting up of hand-pumps and the construction of latrines and play grounds.
He said the initiative is a self-help quick impact project targeting under privileged and remote communities as other counties will shortly be covered under the intermediate program of the organization.
