The Publisher of a bi-weekly newspaper, the Nation’s Times, Octivia Williams was yesterday picked up by officers of the Liberian National Police allegedly upon the orders of Deputy Police Director for Operations, Col. Abraham Kromah.

Early this week The Nation’s Times reported that Robert Sirleaf, President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf son was being questioned by the Liberian Immigration authority for his alleged US citizenship.

The paper also reported that some staffers at the Bureau were being dismissed for given out information to the press on the issue.

When the Deputy Police Director for operations was asked to give reason why the journalist was arrested, he told reporters that the action was above him.

Stakeholders and executives of the Press Union of Liberia yesterday evening went to the police station to secure the release of Mr. Williams but to no avail, as the journalist's freedom was seized spending a night behind bars.
