The Liberian leader, President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has named Madam Rosalind Sneh, former Superintendent of Grand Kru County, and one of the Senatorial Aspirants for the County to serve on the Advisory Board of the National Symbols Review Project (NSRP).
In a communication to Mrs. Sneh, a copy in the possession of the GNN-Liberia, and signed by the Chairman of the Governance Commission (GC), Dr. Amos Sawyer said, “We extend to you our compliments. By the directive of her Excellency the President, Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf we are pleased to inform you of your preferment to serve as Member of the Advisory Board of the National Symbols Review Project. We hope you will accept to collaborate with your fellow Liberians in this important national endeavor,” the communication noted.
It can be recalled, President Johnson Sirleaf on February 6, 2014 the NSRP was officially launched as an integral part of the National Reconciliation and the National Visioning exercises of the Liberian Government and the people of Liberia.
The project mandate is to conduct a comprehensive examination of the national symbols, the Flag, the Seal, the National Anthem, the National Awards, among others to determine the extent to which they represent the cultural breadth and general aspirations of all Liberians.
This Project is organized as a semi-autonomous initiative under the auspices of the Governance Commission.
