LIBERIA: Sime Derby Plantation Sets Ablaze

Report from central Liberia speaks of a trouble at the Malaysian palm and rubber plantation where fire is said to be ablaze on the plantation with properties worth millions of United States dollars damaged.

The report said several persons have been arrested in connection to the incident, blaming the incident on individuals who are engage in the burning of charcoal on the plantation.

Several hectors of the plantation covered with palm corps, according to report have been destroyed as a result of the incident; some of those who suspected of being the doers of the act have been arrested by the National Police.

According to report, the management of the company is said to be blaming individuals who are engage in the burning of charcoal for commercial purpose.
