Ex-warlord and politician, Dr. George S. Boley, has indicated his intention to contest the 2014 Mid-Term Senatorial Election in his home county, Grand Gedeh. He told a gathering of women, youths, elders and children at the residence of Elder Isaac Toe about his intention to seek their mandate for the senatorial seat of Grand Gedeh County.
Dr. Boley said, while speaking at a brief ceremony at Disco Hill, that he will officially announce his intention at the appropriate time, declaring that for now, he wanted to get acquainted with all communities, citizens and residents of county.
On his past achievements, Dr. Boley cited his role as the first education planner in the Tubman era, assistant minister in the Tolbert administration, Education Minister and Minister of State for Presidential Affairs in the Doe regime.
He was also founder and head of the Liberian Peace Council rebel group during the Liberian civil crisis.
He recalled that in all his endeavors, Grand Judeans benefited.
Residents of Disco Hill Community, including women, youths, elders and local leaders, have meanwhile expressed appreciation to Dr. Boley and promised to keenly follow his activities for future support.
The National Elections Commission (NEC) recently warned politicians against engaging in campaign activities ahead of NEC’s declaration of the start of campaigning.
